General (Ret.) Former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces – Senegal

Former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Senegal and then Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, General Mamadou SOW (Ret) has led and participated in the elaboration of several defense and security policies at both the national and international levels.
A graduate of the National School for Active Officers in Thies, Senegal, and of the French military academies of Saumur, Fort Knox in the United States and the National War College in Nigeria, he has been regularly deployed in operational situations. He has served as Commander of an operational area in Senegal, Sector Commander of the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC) and as Chief of Staff of the United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).
Chairman of the ECOWAS Chiefs of Staff Committee, he participated in the planning and engagement of the West African Forces during the crisis in North Mali in 2013.
As a military advisor to the political authorities, he has taken part in high-level international and regional negotiations.
Aware of the indispensable complementarity of public and private efforts in the field of security and the need to integrate security challenges into business development strategies, he offers his expertise to develop operational and relevant solutions for private sector investors in Africa.
General Mamadou SOW is director and president of TSO and *TERANGA SURETE AEROPORTUAIRE (TSA).
